In 2020, I won a permit for Half Dome. It was touch and go on whether it would happen, because YNP was closed due to Covid. Luckily, they reopened a week before my permitted hike date. I definitely cried when I got to the top.
Give me a camera and a good pair of hiking boots, and I’ll be ready for adventure.
I hail from New England, but I've been living it up in the San Francisco Bay Area for almost a decade. I'm a photographer, and I've been snapping shots since film was cool the first time around. I count myself lucky because I've been able to make a living doing what I love for nearly 15 years now.
Would you believe that I didn't always want to be a photographer? Nope, I grew up in the theatre and thought that would be my path in life. In 2001, I moved from Massachusetts to New Mexico, my first time away from home. That is where I discovered my passion for photography. I felt like everything was so different and new, and I wanted to capture it all. Since then, I've traveled all over the country, taking pictures of everything--people, places, and things.
When I'm not taking photos, you'll find me adventuring with my awesome husband and three amazing kids. My house is also home to Beatrice and Matilda (a border collie and an Australian cattle dog) and Dos, our bunny rabbit. I love, LOVE to hike. I'm convinced it's the best way to right any wrongs in life. Road trips are a close second to hiking-- just turn up the good tunes, roll the windows down, and hit the back roads! I'm always up for a new adventure, as long as I can bring my camera along. I dream of owning an alpaca farm someday (how cool would that be?). I'm a big coffee lover, and I'm always happy to share a cup and a smile with a new friend.
If you're ever in the area, be sure to hit me up for a cup of coffee and a chat. I'd love to get to know you better!
